Facial Feminization is very critical for us as crossdressers. We should always aim to feminize our faces because that is the first thing people see when they look at us.
One way to achieve a feminine look is by applying makeup, especially Black smokey eye makeup. This type of makeup has always been one of the most unique and popular types of eye makeup. The smokey eye, which makes your eyes look more prominent and alluring by using deep shades of black and dark brown, will never fade away no matter how long it has been around.
What is black smokey eye makeup?
The black smokey eye is a makeup that makes your eyes look darker and darker. It usually comes in dark tones. You can also use other colours to accentuate your eyes. Although it does not need many tools, you can always use good mascara and eyeliner. It would be best to have eyeshadow to create different effects suitable for various occasions.
How to do a Black Smokey Eye Makeup
When done correctly, this eye makeup look can leave you looking classy and elegant in no time! Let’s find out how to do black smokey eye makeup in 5 easy steps.
1. Prep your face
We need to moisturize our face with an oil-free, non-comedogenic moisturizer and makeup primer. This will make our skin smooth, and we can apply our foundation easily without any lines or streaks.
2. Eyeshadow base
We can prime our eyelids with an eye shadow primer to reduce fading and creasing and prevent fallout. Eyeshadow base may also help intensify colour payoff. Apply the floor with an eyeshadow brush, using smooth, firm strokes across your lid up toward your brow bone.
3. The Lashes!
This is an important step that we can’t skip. If we want to sport a dark, bold, and smokey eye makeup look, then, first of all, we need to define our eyes by applying eyeliner. The beauty of wearing eyeliner is that it instantly makes our eyes appear more extensive, more comprehensive, and brighter, so don’t miss out on it.
4. Apply eyeshadow
Sweep a light-coloured eyeshadow from lash line to brow bone. Blend it upward and outward as we move toward our temple. Use a dark-coloured eyeshadow to line our lid, lower lash line, and outer corner of the eye. We now add a medium-coloured eye shadow between the light and the dark-coloured eye shadow. Leave plenty of room for a shimmery highlight colour, and make sure that area is also blended well for an even look.
When you’re done, pat your eye makeup brush against a makeup-remover pad, then tap gently all over your eye area to ensure there are no lingering pigments that might transfer later. Let it dry before you continue with the rest of your makeup routine. You can also prep it with translucent powder if you want it to last all day long without smudging or creasing. Just be careful not to touch your lids or lashes before they’ve had time to set.
3. Why you should wear the look?
The black smokey eye is as fun and sexy to wear as versatile. Perfect for day or night, formal or casual, crossdressers can wear it on light and dark complexions to complement any hair colour, from platinum blonde to jet black. It makes a bold statement, instantly adding drama and interest to your look, and will take you from your daily grind in jeans and a tee to glam-girl ready with just a few simple steps.
Best of all, if done correctly, it takes only minutes to achieve. And while most crossdressers are adept at creating their unique version of the classic black smoky eye, we can easily create a look that is in tune with our personalities.
Davina i use Nivea as a prep, let it sink i then apply my foundation .. i usually apply powder all over before i do my eyes which are up next with a base colour usually browns or a grey nothing bright or fancy .. maybe i need to experiment.. I’ll then apply a black eye shaddow onto my lashes top and bottom near the lids outward which immediately creates a smokey look and will then put on mascara.. After this maybe a darker eye shadow on my lids making sure it goes from black (thin black not to much of a band) to dark brown or grey then gradually lighter towards my brows.. And thats i.. Sometimes i might use an eye liner sometimes not. I’ll then get on with contour, highlight, lip liner lippy and blush and I'm done.. Oh and sometimes a translucent setting powder over the top
