Davina, I think your wife probably means that to most people it doesn't really matter if you're transsexual or just a crossdresser, as Joe Public sees you as the same. Unless you wear a big sign around your neck, no one at a single glance will be able to tell the difference.

I watched the programme. Interesting that they thought that being trans could be biological. After all we all start out as female (X) and it is only the Y that makes us male. So you are either all woman or half woman and half man. As the surgeaon said it's all the same plumbing just arranged in different way. Chuck in a few homrones and we're a real melting pot!
