I did get a full makeover a couple of years ago when I was on a job in Kent. I had to drive for an hour, dressed and got there late but the makeover results were fantastic, the photo's of me are from then. Cost wise it was very good at £60, but that was a basic makeover and although I learnt a lot I would love to do it again with someone teaching me slowly how to look my best! There is a person in Cardiff that does it and I have heard they are very good, but at the moment I have too many other things to think about!

I don't think there is any other way for me to go the full hog and experience being dressed with makeup other than by visiting one of these 'Dressing Services'. I've been to 3 so far but more to just dress and no makeup. All have been private houses and offer the facility and experience but I think the last one I visited offered more, full makeup, photos, more relaxed atmosphere etc and I felt more comfortable. I may be going to see family at the end of Nov and if I do, there is a place in Liverpool that I would go to (take 2 or 3 of my dresses for the photos) and get fully made up. It is a bucket list thing as it won't happen at home and not something I could do myself. Costs are a consideration here a you're looking at 125 to 200 for 4 hours.

I’ve visited 5 makeover places over the years with mixed experiences I’d say. Two were very good (although one of those did a runner with £350 of mine which I never got back…Tam from Fourth Space I hope your balls drop off), one indifferent, two uncomfortable and jarring. I personally found it hard to relax in the same way I would if I was taking a leisurely day at home pampering and preening. But if you’re happy to go get a decent makeover (with any luck) and nice camera shots and can handle the slight awkwardness then do it Mrs.
