So what do people think to Rishi's closing speech in his remarks about 'a woman is a woman and a man is a man and not being bullied to thinking any different'
I am paraphrasing but that was the jist. I guess it's point scoring with the voters that put him in power.
To me though it just shows that if that is a message from the top from our so called leaders then it sort of explains why trans rights are getting such a backlash at the moment.
Thank fuck that most of our younger generation are more forward thinking and accepting of alternative lifestyles.
I guess this has really hit a nerve with me because 2 years ago I had a highly depressed son that was considering ending it all. They couldn't work out how to go on as they were worried that there life wasn't worth anything.
It was that they knew they were a trans girl and thought they would bring shame and be thrown out of the family. This couldn't be further from the truth. It has brought us all closer and I have even shared some of my secrets.
I love my trans daughter and will support her in whatever coming steps there are to come.
Rant over x
Myself and Chelle went out last night for a meal and then went to see Ru Paul werq the world show. There was so many statements and remarks made by the queens about the remarks and laws in both the uk and the USA.
It's purely political and hes been told to say that as Starmer wouldnt answer the question.
If Trans is needed as an aid to get back in power you can bet he'll be singing the praises of trans people.
NEVER TRUST A TORY that's my motto as all the rubbish things in my life hav come from them in power.
Currently politically homeless.
He and some others in Tory party are hypocritical bigots. The language they use is dangerous. “Bullied into believing you can choose your gender, a man is a man and a woman is a woman” I believe was the phrase he used. This might be his belief but it clearly goes against science - a topic he would use if it suited a belief he had. The Home Secretary is just as bad -
Possibly worse.
The language is dangerous because it instils fear in people, which is amplified by social media and the ability to think rationally is diminished and that is where hatred come from. I could quote Yoda here, in some way it might cheapen it, but actually the quote is accurate ‘fear leads to anger, anger leads leads to hate, hate leads to suffering’
Ally I wish your trans-daughter well and hope she finds a safe place in this world. There are still good people - the majority in fact - but the sooner the rhetoric from our so called leaders calms down, the better society will be
