Courtney Act, a contestant on this year’s Celebrity Big Brother, has gone viral for perfectly explaining the spectrums of sexuality and gender to TV presenter India Willoughby.
Courtney Act, whose real name is Shane Jenek, is an Australian drag queen who appeared on season six of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Willoughby, who was born Jonathan Willoughby and became Britain’s first transgender television newsreader, previously admitted to Jenek that she had a “weird phobia” of drag queens. - This is what Ive talked about before in terms of some Trans people look down on or have a phobia about different types of Trans along the trans spectrum and some say there is not trans spectrum
Jenek has been highly praised for describing the scales of sexuality and gender calmly and clearly.
“We know that a lot of people just see us the same and we both know that that’s completely incorrect,” he said to Willoughby.
“I think the tricky thing is that my feeling is that gender does exist on a spectrum.”
“I would say [it’s] like the Kinsey scale with sexuality from zero to six, where zero is exclusively heterosexual and six is exclusively homosexual.
“I think that gender’s similar where you know if one is female and six is male I’m probably a four.
“Gender can exist on a spectrum.”
Jenek went on to discuss how because people aren’t used to considering that there are more than two genders, they’re often opposed to the idea that gender can be as fluid as sexuality.
In which case if a woman is a 1 and a man is a 6 makes me a 5.5 as a crossdresser if Janek is a 4 makes sense
Davina
She is beautiful
My husband is the same 5.5 and 6 crossdresser and straight im ok with that even if he was 5.5 and 5.5 just makes him curious and open minded hed never cheat.

Sorry my fault catching up in here I think I scattered things across a few related threads
Happy weekend all
Hannah (wife)
My husband said the same as you Davina wheres this other thread im going round in circles
It's good to talk Hannah following your posts catching up..
I like this Davina its nice to see a more or less full time tgirl put this into perspective in terms of sexuality and trans spectrum and interesting to hear in trans she says shes a 3 or 4 but lives and makes a living out of pretending to be a woman which really does push you right up against 6 as part time crossdressers.
I asked my husband and he agreed hes a 5.5 as only dressed once or twice per month like you working from home sometimes and we try to have a fun girly night once per month but sexuality I said ok if you have Gay as a 1 and Straight as a 6 where are you and he said as a man i'm a 6 totally straight but as a girl I'm probably a 4 or a 5 then he said ok Jannik is openly bisexual and says hes a 4 so i'm a 5 so a little bi or at least curious when crossdressed and again you've opened this on another thread so i will move on to that one next lol you've both been busy here thanks for the support and discussing this
Hannah (wife).
My interpretation is Gender identity is your identity and my gender identity is a Man.
Gender expression again 99% of the time for me is Alpha male Man 1% i express my gender identity as a woman when im crossdressed but thats image and maybe how i behave when crossdressed which Esme identifies as being different behaviour from when im in my natural gender identity.
In terms of gender identity i said if 1 is all woman and 6 is all man im a 6 but as i crossdress some would say i cant be a 6 as i crossdress so id take a 5.5 but reality on gender identity im a 6 all man.
In terms of gender expression 1 being totally a woman and 6 being totally a man my gender expression is 100% Man unless im crossdressed then my expression goal is to be as close to 1 all Woman as possible in terms of how i look crossdressed but taking Courtnry Act says shes a 4 in gender expression then im a 5 as dont express myself as well as her ie id not get on RU Pauls drag act like Courtney Act and look so glam and convincing... but im probably talking in terms of beauty but also considering she openly expresses herself as female and i dont... So if shes a 4 Im a 5?
Do you agree with Gender Expression v Gender Identity?
I don't feel female at all was for Sindy as she will tell us we cannot feel female we can only pretend of perceive what we think it feels like to be female.
I'm a bloke think as a bloke act as a bloke dress as a woman and maybe act somewhat like a woman when dressed but I can't say I really feel.like a woman as I dont know how it really feels to be a woman
Come on Sindy lets have it
Davina
No but you look female. Gender expression isn't to do with how you feel but how you appear to society. I was 1.5 because I couldn't pass a real woman but look far enough away from a man not to be mistaken for one from a distance lol.
Gender identity is how you feel internally. You could feel like a woman but dress as a man (your gender identity is female). Alternatively you could feel like a man but dress as a woman (your gender identity is male).
Are you taking gender expression or gender identity when you give yourself a mark?
I think that crossdressing is gender expression. Being a transsexual is gender identity. It does put another layer of confusion into the gender debate but I think it helps to clarify as well.

I dont feel female at all
Sexual oriantation is easier to define. You're either attracted to the same sex, the opposite sex, both sexes or none. I guess you can scale it to be more or less attracted to one sex or the other if you're bisexual.
My thought is that when I'm dressed as a woman my gender maybe 1.5 (1 being totally female) When I'm dressed as a man my gender would be 6 (totally male). I don't feel female when I'm dressed as a man.
Katie
An extended version and much more informative and I think we can all point to where we are as Sexuality I'm a 1 exclusively attracted to women and trans a 5.5 the 0.5 defining me as a Crossdresser maybe as if i said i was totally Male a 6 someone would say ahh but you crossdress and my argument of I'm still a man a 6 would water down so will accept a 0.5 argument as a tgirl..
There is a bit more of an explination here https://twitter.com/bbuk/status/950050415030104064 than on the Indie website. Good to see the comments on twitter.
