"Classy Not Trashy: How My Wife Helped Shape Davina"

When I first revealed Davina to my wife, I wasn’t sure what she'd think. Would she be horrified? Would she laugh? Would she walk away?

She didn’t do any of those things and her meeting me as I've blogged wasn't forced and wasn't planned it just happened in her own time.

Instead, she took a breath, sat with it, and eventually—step by step—started offering guidance. Not just acceptance, but refinement.

She made one thing very clear from the start:“If you’re going to do this, do it right. Dress your age. Look nice. Look classy. No very short skirts, no fishnets, no heavy, slutty makeup. Davina should be classy not trashy"

And she was right.

I think many of us, when we first dress, want to go all-in. We try the short skirts, the bold heels, the heavy eyeliner. the slutty look.. It’s fun. It’s fantasy. But at some point, for me at least, it had to evolve into something more grounded, more convincing.

My wife helped me find that version of Davina.

She softened my look. Guided my makeup a bit. When she saw Davina in a classy dress, tasteful makeup, and a composed look, she actually smiled.“You look really nice. Convincing”

That moment was huge.

Not just because of her approval—but because it helped me see Davina through someone else’s loving, honest eyes. I stopped trying to be a slutty pin-up fantasy and started becoming a real reflection of how I wanted to feel: feminine, confident, calm.

When I get the chance to become Davina, I hear my wife’s voice in my head guiding me.

No short dresses.No trashy fishnets.Dress your age.Look nice.Look classy.

She wasn’t rejecting Davina—she was helping her grow up - If she realised it or not..

And I’ll always be grateful for that.
