Going back to my previous post about 'lesbian teapots' it does seem that schools are doing far more to break gender stereo types. Maybe hanging on the coat tails of the transgender movement crossdressing will become less of an issue for our younger generation in the future.

One of the most prestigious private schools in the area has a 'trouser uniform' and a 'skirt uniform'. They no longer have boys and girls uniforms.
A lot of this pressure is coming from the students themselves which can give us all hope.
Yes I like Louise too
Louise for me. She's got such a nice way about her.
Sally always dresses well but smiles far too much about Tory matters for my liking.
I like the girl who does the sport as they always show a great angle of her very sexy legs especially in black tights and heels.
My definition of 'Ultra feminine' is not drag queens. I think women who's make up is always immaculate, who's hair is always perfect, they're always well groomed in fashionable clothes. Manicured nails with no chipped nail polish! They'll mostly wear heels, skirts and dresses. I think that my avatar is an 'Ultra feminine' woman.
I also think that these women can sometimes be knocked by other women 'God she always so perfect' 'She's obviously got far too much time on her hands' etc.
I always think that 'Chic' french women always pull his look off perfectly as do many TV news presenters (Sally looked great this morning).

I dress and do my makeup a certain way and wear high heels so suppose I dress how I like women to dress and how I like them to do their makeup and the stockings and heels top it off.
I don't think I personally dress ultra fem I dress more to look nice and casual and as realistic as possible without going into the realms of drag queen.
I think that what a lot of crossdressers try to portray what could be described as 'Ultra feminine'. Lots of women have no interest in being 'Ultra feminine' and would feel uncomfortable being dressed this way.
It's a matter of choice and how it makes you feel. I'm sure that women who dress in an 'Ultra feminine' way do so because it make them feel good, it appeals to them. In the same way as a crossdresser feels good about dressing this way.
Women may think that other women are strange or weird for wanting to dress on way or the other all the time. For a man wanting to dress this way is even 'stranger' but none the less a lot of us do. It's our preference to spend some time dressed this way.
I don't know why it appeals but it does.
So I don't think we're trying to portray all women. It's just a selective style that appeals to some women and not others.

"I don't think that being able to wear what you like will stop crossdressing. All it will do is to remove the stigma associated with crossdressing"
Agreed if all it is is dressing in womens clothing this may help the stigma but still hard for a wife or GF to understand why we go further than this and put on a wig and makeup and lingerie and heels stockings perfume etc.
And we cannot fully explain why we do this or fully understand it ourselves so we say "so what !..we do it.. its harmless, its a stress buster, its fun, its a turn on..." its more or less the same as the wearing of clothing only we're not just wearing the clothing we're trying to appear as women and that's the bit that makes women freak out?
That's the bit that makes them reference psyco and pervert and sure we can turn around and say women can dress as man any time and no one bats an eye lid but then they say "Yes but what you're portraying is ours!"
aaaaannnnddd debate...
I don't think that being able to wear what you like will stop crossdressing. All it will do is to remove the stigma associated with crossdressing.
There are plenty of girls who wear the same uniform as the boys and nobody bats an eyelid. In fact she is often praised for showing her individuality and strength. She is probably not transgender.
The only boys in a dress are those who identify as a girl and so transgender.
As a crossdressing boy it is unlikely I would have worn a skirt to school, even given the permission to do so. Slowly it maybe become normal but at the moment it is an important step for those children who are struggling with their gender identities.
I think the idea is that boys can wear dresses/skirts to school and girls can wear shorts/trousers giving them both the same options. The 'skirt uniform' and 'trouser uniform' are not gender specific unlike a 'girls uniform' and 'boys uniform'. So if a girl want to wear trouser in winter and a dress in summer she can. If a boy want to do the same then he is also free to do so.
I know that there was a local school where the boys turned up in summer wearing skirts because they weren't allowed to wear shorts in hot weather. It was a protest using a 'loophole' in the rules but does demonstrate gender in equality in school uniforms.
I also suspect that it is a way for schools to get some extra money by promoting LGBT issues or maybe I'm just a little cynical.
Agreed Rebecca my two are in school in summer dresses and cardigans and if they had a trousers only option I know they'd not be very happy

I have a son and a daughter.
They can both wear trousers but my daughter opts for a skirt in the winter with thick tights and now its summer term she wanted a green and white cheq summer dress.
I like the girls being able to wear skirts and summer dresses and don't think they should have trouser option only.
Very androgynous.
If girls want to wear trousers they can but iId say at my daughters primary school 100% of the girls opt for skirts or summer dresses.
Gosh I havent been here in a few days have I. I actually died laughing at the 'lesbian teapot' comment. Your kid is hilarious lol. Sorry it caused some stress but hey, at least you know he's pretty open minded about it all.
And gender neutral at my kids school. I think there is a girl uniform that is obviously for females, but most girls wear the gender neutral top and pants the boys also wear.
For me though, this just makes me question whether crossdressing might disappear and only transgender people will be left? Part of what started my husband on this track was the distinctly different school uniforms. Typical man with a school girl fetish I guess lol. He wouldnt have that opportunity now, and the adult women where I live don't tend to dress particularly feminine, so I literally cannot see how my boys could become crossdressers? Seems it might become something the stuffy older dudes used to do lol.
Identity issues are a different beast though, and I suspect that is what the schools are teaching about. Good for them.
And hi everyone. :-)
