Funny enough Covid and lockdown changed my male dress significantly! Before I would be the only one in the office wearing a shirt, tie and trousers with black shoes. Most of the men would wear jeans, T-shirts and polo tops with trainers or casual shoes. Lockdown made me realise I was projecting an image that was based on how I wanted others to see me, smart and professional, I now wear Jeans or chinos, casual shirts and canvas shoes or casual shoes. I feel more comfortable and less bothered about looking the part rather than being me!
We'll, I think you're right in one respect Davina, the suit is generally the ONLY accepted apparel for male business dress. You may get a polo shirt etc for something less formal but that's about it 😥. Despite attempts at various fashion shows over the years, we're still no nearer to men wearing skirts on an everyday basis.Unfortunately I can't say I'd want to dress like Bobafet (or whoever) either given the choice. Macho, certainly, practical and comfortable, no chance. I may run around the woods at a weekend dressed something akin to Seal Team (or similar) shooting plastic pellets as whoever the enemy is but not every day thank you. Hot, heavy, bulky, uncomfortable. Everyday wear it's not 🚫. Jeans and T shirt it is then 👍
