I was in Cardiff for a meeting today and after the meeting had a 45 min wait for a train so went for a wander around the shopping centre and visited this place..
A cosmetics place the wife usually pops in whilst I pop to menkind and peruse the gadgets and then the sports shop.. but today I stopped and looked at the makeup place and thought lets have a look in here then chickened out and walked away back towards the exit then though “what’s wrong with you go and look” so went back and went in and noticed I wasn’t the only man in there looking at makeup there were at least 3 men one looking at foundation, one looking at shades of lipstick and one looking at something else over the way.
Now chances are they’ve been tasked with picking up makeup for the gf or wife or christmas shopping… or like me they’re crossdressers haha
I was Christmas shopping for the wife and kids but also perusing for myself looking for a contouring / hilighting set.
I noticed two guys had gone to queue with makeup and I’m looking from the front to the middle of the shop realising they were makes of makeup I’d heard of and the expensive ones were near the door and the cheaper stuff was inside the shop by an area where you could get a makeover with the makeover woman giving me a smile as if to say “want a makeover ya Crossdresser !” Lol
The assistants buzzing about I’d made “my cover story” the wife wants a contour and highlight set which sh0uld I buy and only want a cheap one to try it out but they didn’t talk to me.
I found one for about £6 with a diagram of how to apply on the inside but thought I’d check in body care when I go shopping friday thinking 6 quid on Davina too much for this I might get something cheaper in body care and some lipstick and stuff for wifes stocking when I pop in on Friday haha
So I didn’t buy anything still want to try contouring to see if it will improve my look as Davina why did I feel such a chicken lol grown ass man!
Davina
Good boy well done I take it back you're not such a pussy after all lol
Hannah (wife)
Very funny got some new lipstick, eyeshadow, blending thing and brush and a contouring set total cost under a tenner oh and some fashon tights with a pattern as I like tights with a pattern.
So yeah nothing to it haha
I take it you put your big boy pants on and bought makeup for your girls night lol
Emma (wife)
Thanks Hannah I have Rimmel foundation but all my other stuff is cheap stuff from makeup sets
Not sure if my wife will try my wigs on be a laugh
I may try multiple looks seek wifes opinion on what looks best for hair colour and style see if she can put my hair up etc
I'm sure a cheap contouring set woukd suffice for crossdressing with the 3 shades and check you tube for makeup tips on how to apply.
Matt lippy seems all the rage at the moment.
You and Esme will have fun with makeup I'm sure on Friday.
Are you going to be a blonde, brunette or red head Davina and will Esme try your wigs on.
He has a nice red wig I've worn on one of our nights in makes me look so different.
Cheap lipstick and eyeshadow is ok but foundation and concealer are worth spending a bit more on.
Hannah (wife)
So what you looking to buy Davina maybe we can help?
Rebecca (wife)
Haha Katie would have been a shock I'm sure if she wasn't expecting you.
Don't know why I went all chicken I don't know if I deserve to be called a pussy lol ok I deserved it.
I've not bought anything for Davina for ages.
Will have a look whilst shipping Friday.
I think you can get away with buying clothes as you can always pass it off as 'for my wife' but makeup is a bit more personal. Unless you know the specific one it's hard to ask for advice. I've picked up stuff for my wife from Mac which is OK as they have customer records of what she buys.
I've watched women try the testers on the back of their hands quite a lot. Difficult if you're a bloke not wanting to stand out.
I walked around the block a few times before I saw the personal shopper (PS) but having an appointment booked meant I'd made a commitment. Maybe booking an appointment with a 'beautiful' may work. I had a few emails back and forth so the PS knew what to expect. Didn't want her expecting some petite woman turning up and finding 'Katie' was a six foot 50 year old man!
Katie
Agreed Katie but as Davina was chicken about going in will she ask for advice?
Just go for it Davina no different to buying anything else.
Made me laugh you thinking the beautiful was thinking you were a Crossdresser
Rebecca (wife)
The hardest thing is the choice. Counter after counter full of different lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara etc. Where do you start? Foundation - some of it would be hopless to cover that beard shadow. What sort do you need - it's all too confusing, not even thinking about the right shade!
You need help!
When I saw the personal shopper at Debenhams she took me out to Boots and helped me buy all the basics. She was really into makeup and it was amazing to watch how she expertly worked her way through the different brands picking out what would be best for me.
I wouldn't shop at the 'local' shops, especially if you're likely to be seen. I've always shopped in London - you can be anonymous and will probably never see them again.
Next time you're away on business pop into Boots or somewhere similar and ask for help. They'll probably be delighted to help you find what is right for you. Once you're out the shop you'll probably never see them again.
Katie
You pussy Davina call yourself a man get on with it if you want makeup buy it.
