Went to two Town centres yesterday and two things stood out, three actually or maybe 4.
1) Lots of women throw on jeans, flats and a coat and off they go no makeup no effort
2) Some women dress a bit classier and do make an effort with makeup even for shopping
3) Younger women exiting teens to mid 20s go OTT with makeup and have too dark a shade of Foundation
4) Mens wear is bland and I have no idea where i'll shop in the future for mens clothing
Looking at 2 and 3 I see here something that us T Girls go through in wanting to always make an effort if we dress never jeans flats and no makeup we like to look the part and make an effort with hosiery and makeup etc and 3 we go through this trying different makeup looks and techniques until we find the one that suits us.. I've been too orange or too dark too but now know this and go for a lighter tone of foundation and powder to get the right blend with hilight and contour and a bit of blush but there's another mistake some women i saw making and Esme commented on one "Too much blusher"
Women with a lot more time to practise and years to practise makeup than us you'd think would have sussed the war paint by now... ??
I dressed casual one day in jeggins, ankle boots and a blouse, full makeup and wig and my wife came home from work.. I said is this the sort of thing you think i should wear out in public to pass and she looked a bit shocked and said yes normal every day things.
When she went back to work she said she felt a little freaked out used to seeing me in a dress i was dressed casual with casual makeup and wig.. i didn't think oh damn i shocked her i thought "Yes" i shocked her as i looked every day outside in muggle world passable lol
I would like to explore the casual look more but never got the time and love dresses and skirts and my legs encased in tights or stockings,
Good points Davina but I'm definitely a 2) although without the makeup. Since I reassessed my dress collection earlier this year I have bought several of what I call 'office' dresses rather than the party dresses I had bought previously. That's a choice in case I ever did decide to 'step out' when a party dress just wouldn't be suitable However, I now find I look more closely than I used to at what women wear when I do go out. I'm more critical for myself in deciding if I see a woman in an outfit and think to myself is that something that would suit me and also is it something that I would choose to wear. Despite many women wearing jeans or leggings of some sort with a T shirt etc that look is not for me. Maybe it's because its way too close to what I dress as in my male world or maybe (much more probably) that look is not 'feminine' enough for me. I'd rather make the effort to wear a dress, stockings and heels as it's much more about the 'look' for me and, to an extent, the fabric choices of the dress as well as the style and fit. I'm sure that as a woman I would want some 'comfort' clothes like jeans, leggings and T shirts but I find dresses just so much more flattering, attractive, sexy, convenient with a myriad of choices (but I appreciate not all suit me). This is the femininity that wins out in my head so I make an effort every time I dress to look, and feel, as near feminine as (I think) I can be. I'm not brave enough to go in to a woman's retail outlet to shop without an understanding partner but I'm quite happy shopping online and will take the inspiration I see on the street to the keyboard.
Another week ahead where I cant enjoy the transformation and Crossdress, but saddens me to see some women not taking advantage of the wonderful clothing choices ... If I was a woman and easy to say this being a Tgirl / Crossdresser i'd make sure i was looking my best and feminine every day.. Reality id be in sweat pants and a t shirt or still in my pjs working form home lol
We all bemoan the fact that women have so many options and (fascinating to us) choices to make…shoes, dress skirt or trousers, hair, makeup, underwear, accessories, nails (feet and hands), tights or socks or bare legs…. We’re so envious of these endless choices on what to wear. But I guess the flip side is that the more permutations there are, the more there is to ‘go wrong’, if I can use that clumsy phrase. If a man looks like a dork, he looks like a dork. We don’t assess or analyse, we just dismiss… I mean how hard is it, suit with trainers NO, baseball cap turned backwards NO, cropped T-shirt on an over 40 NO. That’s all I have to say on that.
