Following my makeover last month this last bank holiday an opportunity came up to go to a Transgender Christmas Ball in December, the ball will be held at a hotel in Milton Keynes and is hosted by Trans Radio UK.

I thought about it for a few days and decided I wanted to start to get out as Catriona, my makeover has given me a lot of confidence so I fealt it was time to start to go out.

I didn't want things to start to get away from me after doing the photo shoot so I explained to my wife that I'd been invited to the Christmas Ball and that it would be a Transgender event and that would mean I'd be dressed! I asked her if she would like to come with me but after a few days thinking about it she said she didn't want to go as she wouldn't feel comfortable seeing me dressed! But she did say that if I wanted to go it was fine!!

She was really good about it, she didn't seem annoyed or off about it and she's been fine with me since.

So it's all booked, because the ball is in the same hotel I'm staying in I don't have to go outside if I don't want to, all I have to do is arrive at the hotel, go up to my room and start to get ready.

When I'm ready all I need to do is walk down the stairs and I'm there! I think that's going to be the scariest thing I've ever had to do but I'll have some support from the owners of trans radio and I think they'll be there to help if i get the jitters!! lol

So it's a three course Christmas dinner, drinks and mince pies, there's live entertainment from a trans woman called Broadway Baby and a DJ afterwards, so I think this is going to be a big coming out event for me as Catriona and i get to ware a ball gown as well!!

I've come a long way since I first told my wife, things aren't perfect yet and we've got a long way to go but I think a massive amount of progress has been made and going out before the end of the year will finish this year off well.
