In modern society, gender roles and rules are changing. 

Davina - This may be true but there is some push back and some extremes on both sides of this debate.. I’m not going to start playing with my pronouns for example.. I’m a man he/him (I dont feel i need to state this to anyone) but if i was in public dressed I hope I’d look passable and would hope I’d be referred to as She / her to be polite if anything and not referred to as “it” or a “pervert”

People can choose to conform to their gender role without any problems.

Davina - Not true.. Wives and girlfriends may have something to say about this? And there are lots of anti-trans people about but it may take a generational shift to balance this up.. I think older generations have harsher views on the trans community.

But some people believe that men crossdress in order to attract sexual partners. 

Davina - Not true, I dress for myself for the escapism from my male life, how it makes me feel, love the feel and the look of the clothing and letting my guard down and acting or being more feminine. It’s an unexplainable stress busting activity and although I know some find me attractive as Davina and I get propositions to meet from admirers .. I don’t crossdress to attract sexual partners and I think this is the case for the majority of crossdressers. It’s not about sex but sex always gets pulled into the conversation.

What Does Cause Cross-Dressing?

Cross-dressing is a practice that can be done by few people or even by majority of the society, but it has a deep-rooted implications.

The impact on society is obvious. It socialises and damages the image of women. The cultural value that exists in traditional societies is under attack.

Davina - I was wondering where the deep rooted implications were heading but “It damages the image of women” get lost does it hell.. We’re trying to emulate women to feel feminine in our escape from the stress of being men and acting the alpha males etc. We’re not trying to or even thinking of damaging the image of women and crossdressing has been apparent for 100’s nay 1000’s years so its no affront on traditional societies. This article makes more of crossdressing than it should and I'm begging to think the guy who wrote this on a mens website hasnt a clue.. very little research into the subject.

Is Cross-Dressing A Mental Health Issue?

In the group of people who are known as crossdressers, there may be an apparent medical condition called gender dysphoria, or GDD (sometimes written GDD). People with this condition have trouble feeling at home with their assigned gender and think of themselves as the opposite sex.

Davina - Gender dysphoria is a mental health issue? Wow I don’t think it’s a mental health issue. What is a mental health issue is not being able to do something you enjoy which brings you a mental health stress release. Not being able to crossdress can cause a mental health issue. Gender dysphoria may touch us sometimes as Crossdressers to a small extent, but is it there in full like a person who may wish to live 24/7 as a woman indeed become a woman. 

GDD can be different from a transsexual person in that crossdressers may not necessarily identify with one gender more than another. 

Davina - I think most of us crossdressers identify as men.. Our alter egos eg Davina is escapism. I’m a man and always will be.

Some may identify as a man, but still dress and act like women. 

Davina - Yep it’s fun, it’s pure escapism and we can even feel sexy which is something we probably don’t feel as men but makeup wig heels lingerie dress and we can feel sexy.

Others might feel that they would be happier if they were to become a woman. 

Davina - Then that would be more than crossdressing which this article is about.

But it is still common for crossdressers to have some issues related to their biological sex. 

Davina - Really? Not many men i know more a man than me in terms of being well rounded and living for my family. So article enlighten me..

For example, many crossdresses struggle with body image issues due to their male anatomy and many suffer from eating disorders because they are too small.

Davina - What? I don’t struggle with body issues due to my male anatomy.. More so I’d prefer if i still had a 6 pack and was as fit and as slim as i was when younger.. And no eating disorders here.. I need to diet and get back out walking.. No eating disorders just need a more balanced diet.

Why Does My Husband Want To Wear Women’s Clothes?

A guy who wears women’s clothes may think that he is attractive and confident. 

Davina - I think I can look attractive as a t-girl and i feel quite confident when i’m dressed although not having done it in ages with any quality time I think i need to build back that confidence in my look, makeup etc.

He may also feel more comfortable in female attire and look more beautiful in female clothing. 

Davina - I can confirm wearing a bra four hours does get on your nerves eventually but i do love the feel of womens clothing more than mens and as I’ve said i feel sexy and more attractive as Davina.. I’m attracted to femininity / to women so i would prefer seeing the image of a woman than of a man in the mirror wouldnt I.

Some people believe that wearing women’s clothes will help them stay away from bad relationships and other trouble-inducing situations.

One of the main reasons why men want to wear women’s clothing is because they would like to attract a partner who looks similar or even better than them.

Davina - Total nonsense. Hmm i think i’ll dress like Holly Willoughby to try to attract her.. I’m sure shed get an injunction and call me a stalker what nonsense..

What Do You Call A Man Who Wears Women’s Clothes?

The relationship between wearing women’s clothing and gender stereotypes. Most men wearing women’s clothes are in fact socially conditioned to their behavior, which implies that they are viewed as feminine by many people.

Davina - wrong wrong wrong wrong and soo wrong again this article is awful.. I’m more socially conditioned to be the Alpha male and find most t girls i talk to similar .. I don’t know many t girls who are viewed as feminine as men.. This is a poor article.

Is Cross-Dressing Genetic Issue?

The issue of cross-dressing is a controversial one.

Davina - Why? Because society has decided it’s abnormal? Because its portrayed as perverted? And weird by the press and media and people are conditioned to think it’s weird.

 It is believed that some people who are born with the condition have it from birth. 

Davina - Was i born to be a crossdresser.. Genetics? I doubt it.

But others believe that there is no such thing as a gene for cross-dressing and most people who are born with the condition grow up in their natural gender.

Davina - I agree with this.. It was the feel of silky things and fancying women and liking lingerie that pushed me towards trying things on and got hooked nothing to do with gender and i grew up a sporty kid and teen who just happened to like crossdressing and fantasising about women.

What Causes Someone To Be A Transvestite?

Davina - Here we go with the labels - A crossdresser is a Trasnvestire lol it's just another what i'd deem oldfashoned word for a crossdresser.

Transvestites are people who dress in clothes other than their own gender.

Davina - Ah so all women are trannys? As women wear clothing openly in public daily associated as being mens clothing? No?

 There are many reasons that a person may choose to become a transvestite. 

Davina - go on enlighten us

Being attracted to someone of the same gender may be one reason why some men and women cross-dress.

Davina - I dont dress as i’m attracted to men.. More like because i’m attracted to women .. this may be the case for a tiny minority of men who dress. Most of us dress for ourselves nothing to do with trying to attract anyone. Many reasons? And the article names only one and it’s wrong.

How Do You Treat Cross-Dressing?

Cross-dressing is a form of gender expression that is not common in western culture,

Davina - Doen't actually tell anyone how to "treat" crossdressing.. there is no treatment!! and not common??.. I think there are more men who crossdress to an extent in western society than the article is aware of.

… especially as it has become more accepted in recent years.

Davina - I sorta agree for some parts of the trans spectrum not all and there remains that anti-trans brigade.

 It can be done by any gender at all and for any reason.

Davina - but there is only ever issue with men crossdressing not women crossdressing.
